Shocking news: Eminem is speaking up about something

Everyone's favorite profanity-spewing rapper, Eminem, told the NYT that he supports gay marriage!
NYT: You've been accused of writing gay-bashing lyrics in the past. Would you like to see gay marriage approved in Michigan, where you live?
EMINEM: I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.
NYT: Is this the new 37-year-old tolerant you?
EMINEM: It's the new tolerant me!

It's things like this that make me smile. Sure, he didn't really make the most compassionate statement ever, but it's Eminem. I figure that's about the most compassionate we're going to get from him.

I'm not going to go off on my passionate opinion that everyone should be able to be able to marry whomever they choose and no one has the right to tell anyone who they're allowed to love and there are times when the government and everyone else just needs to relax and learn tolerance and love for everyone...But I won't.

Instead, I'm just going to say that I hope that, with more and more celebrities coming out as supporters of gay marriage, others will see that it's OK too.

*steps off soapbox*

Happy Thursday, everyone! What are you doing this weekend?

Check out Eminem's newest single Not Afraid beloooooow. It's pretty fly. Eminem's a different dude these days. I feel like little Marshall Mathers is starting to grow up a little. Who would have even thought, huh?
