(or maybe you didn't...that's OK too) that I've added a few things over there to the right on the sidebar. The ever-changing poll, the links list, the new section 'musicandy', etc...Well, I thought maybe I'd take a few and kind of explain why they're there and why they're awesome.
New bio/description thing!
That's right, kids. I rewrote the bio...description..bio...Whatever you want to call it, it's new and different and, like everything else creative I do, will probably change a couple of times before I deem it acceptable. : )
The ever-changing poll...
I haven't quite decided what I want for a poll yet. PollDaddy and I are sort of getting along, but I feel like we can do better. I'll keep ironing out details. Until then, continue to check back, watch and...you know...re-vote as it evolves.
Holy social media explosion!
I realized recently that I know quite a bit about social media and always find myself encouraging everyone to utilize social media. So then I got to thinking..."Why the hell am I not using all these things to promote myself?" Good question? I thought so. So I spent the majority of my evening last night setting up a super swell MySpace page, Twitter account, and Formspring page. Fun right? Totally..
Quick note: Formspring is basically a website that you can go to, type in a question, it goes to me, I answer it.
New "Click its"!
First and foremost I added The Decibel. The Decibel is the in-house student publication for McNally Smith College of Music. I started the publication two years ago and am incredibly proud of what it's become. Just as I graduated, the paper is being printed in color and a new shiny blog is up and running. Given that The Decibel covers primarily music news, I figured it'd be a good resource to link up.
Radio Noir is a pirate radio station that was the brainchild of some of my classmates at McNally Smith. Like many of McNally Smith student's projects, the station was based on solid do-it-yourself ideals. The result? A truly fantastic radio show. They bring a wide variety of musicians from all over - not just locally. Seriously, tune in and check it out. Quality music is sure to be found.
Soup Bowl Records was also added over there. Soup Bowl is headed by two of my friends and are making pretty awesome strides with the artists they've signed. Check out their website to learn more about them and the artists they work with.
New music to check out!
I've added the webpages of a few bands that I've gotten to know over the last couple years. Their recordings are fantastic, but they're even better live. So check out where they're going to be playing and support them. : )
So yeah. I've added a few things and I was pretty excited to show them to you. :) Now, I know this is the first post in a long time and I'm sorry about that. Real life just kind of took over for awhile. But I promise to be back and posting like crazy again soon.
Much love and all that jazz from your friendly neighborhood blogger,
Jenna
PS
I've got a wicked picture spam blog lined up for the next couple days...So.....Watch out. It's going to be epic.
